2008-2009 Auditions for UCF Opera
are just around the corner!

Open Auditions for students wishing to be considered for 2008-2009 UCF Opera program participation will be held:

Monday, August 25 4:30-7:30 in VAB 146

and

Tuesday, August 26 4:30-7:30 in VAB 146

An audition is required for admittance into:

 

• Opera Skills - MUO 2501C

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30-11:20]

 

and/or

 

• Opera Workshop - MUO 3503 and MUO 5505L

Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 and Fridays 3:30-5:30]

The auditions will also be used to cast the Spring 2009 Opera productions:

• CAPTAIN LOVELOCK

and

• AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS
by Gian-Carlo Menotti

Third Annual Opera Gala Concert

Our Educational Outreach Program the 2008-09 Season will continue with more performances of:

CARMENELLA

[music by Bizet, adapted by Denise Paige Caraher]
 

The Cinderella Story set to musical excerpts from Bizet’s CARMEN, but with a bullfighting twist.  The stepsisters, who are gang members, figure out that violence is a no-win proposition and everyone realizes that being yourself and trying to make a positive difference for others makes for a happy ending.

The duration of our performance is 45 minutes.
